Folkston's Atlantic Coast Line depot was moved away from the tracks to its present site in 1976. It has been restored and is now used as a local museum. (202 W. Main Street).

Nearby is a train-watching platform for railfans who come to observe the action at the busy "Folkston Funnel."

The county seat of Charlton County in southeast Georgia, Folkston is a city of 3,255 people.
