Lakemont Depot

Lakemont was served by the Tallulah Falls Railway until passenger service ended in 1946 and freight service came to a close in 1961. The depot, the red-roofed structure in the center of the postcard, was moved and converted to a residence. A more detailed photo can be found in Brian A. Boyd's Tallulah Falls Railroad; A Photographic Remembrance, (Clayton, Ga: Fern Creek Publishing, 2000).

Lakemont is a community in Rabun County between Tallulah Falls and Clayton.
