Summerville Depot

Steam locomotive No. 610 at Summerville depot

Summerville's former Central of Georgia depot is now the home of the Chattoooga County Historical Society as well as the terminus of a popular excursion train operated by the Tennessee Valley Railroad. Across the street from the depot, a turntable allows locomotives to easily reverse their direction.

In 2006, Georgia DOT provided $100,000 in Transportation Enhancement funds to rehabilitate the building. (Photos below by Carmine Fischetti).
