Walthourville Depot


The depot at Walthourville was probably built by the Savannah, Florida & Western. It was sold to the city in 1978 and then moved across the tracks in 1980. The former freight room became city hall and the passenger facilities became the post office.

Today the post office remains in its location while the police department is in the former city hall space.

The building is quite similar to the standard combination depot design used by the SF&W in the 1890s (below).
