Wrens Depots
The former Savannah & Atlanta Railway depot at Wrens stands by the tracks about a mile south of downtown. (Above and below).
The two photos below show the depot of the Georgia & Florida (earlier the Augusta Southern) on Broad Street in downtown Wrens. As can be seen, it has been thoroughly modernized. The building now serves as Wrens' community house.
The old topographic map below indicates the relative locations of the two stations, with the Georgia & Florida/Augusta Southern depot in town and the Savannah & Atlanta at Wrens Station to the southwest.
From Stapleton 15-minute quadrangle, U.S. Geological Survey, 1920. Wrens is a town of 2,200 in northern Jefferson County, about 30 miles southwest of Augusta.
