Chattanooga Southern Railway

Chattanooga Southern Railway 1906 timetable

Iron ore was of such importance to the Chattanooga Southern that it was indicated on the map. In Georgia, an iron mining center was Estelle, two miles south of Kensington. Ores were dug from Silurian-age deposits along the western base of Pigeon Mountain and transported by a 6-mile narrow-gauge rail line to the Chattanooga Southern.
