Jefferson's Steam Locomotive
Gainesville Midland No. 116 is on display on the north side of Jefferson, near the city's high school. The 2-8-0 locomotive was built by Baldwin in 1907.
A shelter, built in the late 1990s, now protects it from the elements.
Volunteers at work. The locomotive display was restored in 1998 as the Eagle Scout project of Jefferson's Will Wilbanks.
