RailTex
In the 1990s, RailTex, Inc., of San Antonio, Texas, owned and
operated a number of short line railroads across the nation. Initially,
three of these were in Georgia: the Georgia Southwestern Railroad,
the Georgia and Alabama Railroad, and the Georgia Great Southern
Railroad. The latter two were consolidated into the Georgia Southwestern
in 1995.
On February 4, 2000, RailTex was acquired by RailAmerica, Inc.
