Richmond & Danville Railroad
1883 map of Georgia lines

In 1883 the R&D in Georgia consisted primarily of a main line from Atlanta to South Carolina, a branch line from Toccoa to Elberton, and the Roswell Railroad from Chamblee to Roswell. The R&D purchased the Lawrenceville Branch Railroad between Suwanee and Lawrenceville in 1885, and in 1886 the Northeastern Railroad of Georgia was leased. (Note: The map shows a railroad from Gainesville to Dahlonega, but it never progressed much beyond an early grading stage.)
