Seaboard System Railroad



Seaboard System Railroad was created in 1982 when CSX Corporation merged its subsidiaries Seaboard Coast Line and Louisville & Nashville.

In 1985, Seaboard System in Georgia consisted of seaboard system logothe former lines of Seaboard Coast Line, L&N, Georgia Railroad, Atlanta & West Point Railroad, and Gainesville Midland Railroad.

The Seaboard System name lasted only four years. In mid-1986, it became CSX Transportation.

Abandonments:
Athens-Union Point (part of former Georgia Railroad) abandoned 1984.
Macon-Milledgeville (part of former Georgia Railroad) abandoned 1985.
