Western & Atlantic Railroad
1860 map

The Western & Atlantic is shown running northwest from Atlanta to Chattanooga. At Kingston is the Rome Railroad to that city. At Dalton is the East Tennessee & Georgia Railroad.

Other railroads at Atlanta were the Georgia Railroad, the Macon & Western, and the Atlanta & West Point.

Running west from Chattanooga was the Nashville & Chattanooga. It had nearby connections with the Wills Valley Railroad and the Memphis & Charleston.
