Fayetteville Depot

|
The 1902 Southern Railway depot at Fayetteville once served as city hall; it's now used for community activities. |

| The town hasn't had a railroad since 1939, when Southern Railway abandoned the section from Roseland, near Atlanta, to Williamson, southwest of Griffin. Built as the Atlanta & Florida in 1887-88, the rail line was acquired by Southern in 1895. |

| Fayetteville, a city of 16,124, is the county seat of Fayette County. |
