Hapeville Depot Only a short walk from the world's busiest airport, Hapeville's 1890 Central of Georgia depot stands as a reminder of an older form of transportation. The ticket window was once as busy as those at the airport. The depot agent could control the train signals from inside the office. Some years ago, a church was moved to the depot grounds. It has since been moved down the street. Many Central of Georgia, Southern Railway, and Norfolk Southern trains have passed by this depot. The depot was remodeled and expanded in 1947 and rehabilitated in 1980. These photos show the building after the 1980 changes. Hapeville is about seven miles south of downtown Atlanta.   RailGa.com.
