Stapleton Depot The former Augusta Southern depot at Stapleton, built around 1885, is now a community center. It is located off Main Street and School Street at the east edge of town. The railroad here was abandoned in 1934. Stapleton is a town of 430 in Jefferson County, located on Hwy. 102 about 35 miles southwest of Augusta.   RailGa.com.
