Atlanta & LaGrange Railroad Chartered in 1847, the Atlanta & LaGrange was the predecessor of the Atlanta & West Point Railroad. Construction began in 1849 or 1850, and the line was completed in May 1854. It was renamed Atlanta & West Point in 1857.
